Dimensional Weaving is a technique that produces a three-dimensional effect in woven items. It is a versatile and aesthetically pleasing option for adding depth and texture to art pieces.

Looking for new ways to pass the time on the treadmill – and out of my love for fabric – I started looking up youtube videos on Weaving.  I soon learned to make my own loom (looms!) and basic weaving techniques - as I exercised.  What a great use for hand-dyed fabric strips – and the beautiful yarns in my closet that I knew I would use one day!

For each woven piece, I select or create a loom.  For Connections (shown below), I constructed the framework from quilting hoops.  The weaving, as my other fiber art, starts with an idea in mind that evolves as the work progresses.
